Liverpool to Jersey service set to fly

Mon, 26 Nov, 2007

Liverpool Airport has confirmed that easyJet is to begin operating a new route to Jersey from March 31st 2008.

The daily service to the Channel Island takes the number of destinations the budget carrier flies to from Liverpool Airport to 18.

Vic Brodrick, group commercial director for Liverpool's owner Peel Airports, welcomed this latest expansion of easyJet's operations, following the recent announcement of new routes to the Portuguese capital Lisbon and the Austrian ski resort of Innsbruck.

He added: "A daily link to Jersey will certainly benefit the business community and no doubt be popular with those passengers wanting to visit the island for a mini break."

The airline is also planning to launch a new daily service between London Luton Airport and Jersey on April 21st 2008.

It anticipates carrying a combined total of around 200,000 passengers during the first 12 months that the two new flights are in operation.
