Aegean confirms Stansted to Athens service

Wed, 02 Apr, 2008

Aegean Airlines has announced it is to launch a new route between London Stansted Airport and the Greek capital Athens next month.

The twice-a-day service will commence on May 15th, with fares available from £59 one way, inclusive of taxes.

Stavros Dalikas, commercial director of Aegean Airlines, predicted the new service would prove to be a hit with both economy and business class travellers.

"Greece has always been a very popular, year-round holiday destination for the British and there has been a steady increase in the business sector in recent years," said Mr Dalikas.

The airline has also announced details of a range of other new services from Athens for the summer 2008 season.

These include daily flights to the Greek islands of Limnos and Kefalonia, together with an extension of Aegean's presence in the Balkans with a daily service to the Albanian capital Tirana.
