Leeds-Bradford Airport experienced record passenger numbers during the month of August, it has been announced.
The northern hub saw 345,000 people travel through its terminal during the four weeks, the most it has ever recorded during one month.
The total number of passengers from May to August was 1.27 million, making it one of the UK's fastest growing airports.
Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation development director at Leeds-Bradford Airport, said the centre will aim to continue the expansion of its services in 2009 in order to continue such growth.
"We look forward to delivering even more choice for our customers reducing the need to drive across the M62 for their chosen holiday or business destination," he added.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Leeds-Bradford has been nominated for the accolade of Best UK Airport for Leisure in the annual British Travel Awards, which will presented at a ceremony known as the Oscars of the travel industry in London.
