Travel agent begins trading from local airport

Tue, 03 Mar, 2009

A travel agent has relocated to begin trading from its local airport.

Lloyds Travel and its sister firm Cleveland Holidays used to be located in Middlesbrough, reports the Northern Echo.

But they have now gone the way of another office which has been situated in Humberside Airport for 25 years and moved into the Durham Tees Valley Airport terminal.

Travellers can now go there to book their Majorca holidays, including villas and hotels.

Melanie Fairs, who owns the agency, told the paper that the firm was "confident that customers will be pleased".

Durham Tees Valley Airport handled more than 670,000 travellers last year.

It has an online pre-booking facility for airport parking which can save passengers as much as 40 per cent on what they would pay if they just turned up.

However, the pre-booking does not apply to the car park designated for pick-ups and drop-offs.

There are several different rates available on airport parking depending on how far in advance booking is made.
