Stansted Airport in noise consultation

Thu, 18 Jun, 2009

Stansted Airport is carrying out a consultation with local people regarding the issue of noise.

The questioning will go on until September and includes local authorities and MPs.

Stewart Wingate, managing director of the airport, said that the institution was "determined to take appropriate actions to reduce and mitigate against aircraft noise where we can".

The consultation is asking for opinions on how to develop a plan to reduce noise.

Stansted may tell operators that quieter aircraft is needed.

There are several options for airport parking at Stansted.

Short stay, long stay and mid stay facilities are available.

A courtesy coach is available to take travellers from the long stay car park to the terminal.

Passengers can also book their airport parking in advance using the internet.

In addition, there is a valet parking service available.

Users can drop off their cars and have it brought back to them once they return.
