270,000 passengers expected for Scottish airports

As many as 270,000 passengers could be passing through Scottish airports this weekend as BAA Scotland gears up for a "busy summer".
A spokesperson for BAA told the BBC that Dubai, Malaga and Orlando are some of the most popular places for people to be flying to.
While Scotland is expecting traffic for events such as T in the Park and the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, BAA anticipates fewer passengers than last year as the recession causes people to cut costs.
In addition, travellers were warned not to waste money by carrying expensive scents and alcohol in their hand luggage, causing it to be confiscated.
"No-one likes to waste money, but every year tens of thousands of passengers are required to abandon expensive drinks and perfumes because they flout government regulation," said the spokesperson.
According to BAA's statistics, 8.1 million passengers passed through Glasgow Airport last year, while nine million used Edinburgh Airport and 3.3 million went through Aberdeen Airport.
