Stansted Airport to benefit from Ryanair's ski equipment offer

Stansted Airport is set to benefit from a special offer from Ryanair offering winter skiers the chance to bring their skis on-board for free.
The deal applies to flights booked before midnight on Thursday October 1st 2009.
Although flights from a total of seven UK bases, including Birmingham Airport and Manchester Airport, are included in the offer, seven of the 15 routes are based at Stansted Airport.
Destinations include Grenoble, Turin and Salzburg.
Skiing has not suffered as badly as other sectors in the travel industry and Betony Garner, a spokesperson for the Ski Club of Britain, praised the Ryanair offer.
"It's helpful for skiers who are trying to go skiing on a budget and it is a reaction to the fact that other airlines are charging for baggage," she said.
She added this season's most popular locations are likely to be in Italian resorts as they offer better value for money.
