Passengers urged to arrive in good time this Easter

Mon, 29 Mar, 2010

Holidaymakers have been urged to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their departure this Easter.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport said it is expecting a 20 per cent rise in traveller numbers over the coming weeks.

Airport director Andy Gower said: "The airport has seen increased volumes of passengers coming through in recent months and we therefore expect this Easter to be our busiest period for some time."

This means that there is the potential for delays and queues at peak times, he added.

Around 300,000 holidaymakers are set to pass through the busy transport hub over the Easter period.

In related news, Southampton Airport is set to host a chocolate egg hunt this weekend as part of its centenary celebrations.

Around 100 Easter treats will be hidden in the terminal building, news which is sure to delight younger passengers.
