Excitement has been expressed by a representative of easyJet over the new flights scheduled to begin at Leeds Bradford International Airport later in the year.
UK commercial manager of the carrier Ali Gayward said her company was "really excited" to be announcing the new services.
"We believe that launching the popular Geneva route will bring enhanced consumer choice to passengers for a winter break destination," she said.
Commercial and aviation director at Leeds Bradford International Airport Tony Hallwood expressed his pride at welcoming the new services and predicted that the move would boost business for the airport.
The airline will open its popular winter ski route to Geneva from Leeds Bradford International Airport in December this year and the airport has sufficient capacity to carry over 28,000 passengers during its first season.
Earlier in the month, bmi revealed it would be offering services from the airport to a range of European destinations including Brussels, Geneva, Stockholm, Bilbao, Barcelona and Madrid.
