London's Heathrow Airport has played host to a flashmob event, taking place as part of an advertising campaign for a leading phone retailer.

The hub's Terminal 5 was taken over by T-Mobile for filming of their latest television advert.

As part of the event, 300 singers and dancers serenaded passengers to the tune of Aretha Franklin's 'Knew You Were Waiting', which will be played over the terminal's public address system.

Chief operating officer for Heathrow Airport Nick Cullen expressed his delight that T-Mobile had chosen Terminal 5 to play host to its latest event.

"Heathrow is at the heart of world travel - bringing thousands of people together every day," he said. "We're delighted that T-Mobile's spectacular homecoming will capture the spirit of [Heathrow]."

Mr Cullen went on to state that staff are keen to see what the finished advert will look like.

Earlier in the year, Liverpool Street underground station played host to a T-Mobile flashmob event.
