Birmingham Airport announces new brand ambassador
Mon, 15 Nov, 2010
Birmingham Airport has announced the appointment of a new brand ambassador for Asian markets.
Uday Dholakia, senior partner with a consulting firm based in the Midlands, has had more than 20 years experience of international marketing and expressed his delight at being offered the position.
"The opportunity of working with a professional team is exciting, with a clear aim of enhancing Birmingham Airport's global reputation by further enhancing its route and cargo links [in Asia]," he said.
Mr Dholakia's appointment was also welcomed by Birmingham Airport's chief executive officer Paul Kehoe.
He claimed that Mr Dholakia's "extensive knowledge" of Asian markets would be key in tempting people away from London's Heathrow Airport.
Earlier in the month, Birmingham Airport revealed the design for its new brand identity.
As part of its overhaul, the facility revealed it would be dropping 'international' from its name and issued the message "Hello World" across its website and other communications.
