Edinburgh Airport becomes UK's 5th largest passenger hub

Scotland's Edinburgh Airport has become the UK's fifth largest facility in terms of passenger numbers, new statistics have revealed.
Figures from the Civil Aviation Authority indicate that the country's main airport has achieved "consistent" growth since a record number of passengers passed through its gates in July 2010.
Birmingham and Luton were overtaken by Edinburgh Airport as it ascended to the top five facilities and managing director Kevin Brown hailed the news as "fantastic".
"I believe this success is built on two main factors - our reputation as a responsive and ambitious airport with which to do business and of course Edinburgh itself," he said.
Mr Brown went on to say the figures highlight Edinburgh Airport's importance to Scotland and the wider UK.
Last month, the hub announced it would be teaming up with City Car Club to offer pay-by-the-hour self-service car hire to passengers arriving in the Scottish capital.
