London City Airport receives new Chambery route

Mon, 29 Nov, 2010

London City Airport has received a new route to the French destination of Chambery.

Provided by BA subsidiary BA CityFlyer, the new service will run four weekly flights as of December 18th 2010 until the end of March 2011.

Commercial manager for the company Luke Hayhoe promoted the new route as an opportunity for British holidaymakers to take a long weekend in the Alps.

"Only a few short hours after taking off from London's Docklands, our customers can be in a winter wonderland of 120 ski resorts," he said.

BA CityFlyer hailed the region's hotels and famous ski resorts, such as Val D'Isere and Tignes val Claret.

It also noted that car hire is provided by Avis at Chambery and is available as part of a package purchase from BA, which includes flights.

A recent study conducted by York Aviation discovered that London City Airport contributes more than half a billion pounds to the UK economy.
