London City Airport has appointed a new chief commercial officer.
The facility reports that Matthew Hall will be taking up the position as of March 1st 2011.
Boasting a "diversified background" in the aviation sector, Mr Hall currently works as vice president of airline and supplier business development for Travelport.
He previously held the post of managing director of sales and marketing for American Airlines.
Richard Gooding, chief executive at London City Airport, expressed his delight at the appointment, hailing Mr Hall's extensive experience.
"Matthew comes to us with a wealth of aviation industry experience and we look forward to him leading and supporting our … sales, marketing and other commercial efforts," he said.
Mr Hall also welcomed his appointment, stating that he looks forward to helping the facility develop further in the coming years.
Last year, a York Aviation study revealed that London City Airport contributes more than £1/2 billion to the UK economy each year.
