Newcastle Airport announces social media campaign

Newcastle Airport has announced the launch of a social media campaign.
The facility has initiated the programme in an effort to better engage with its customers and has begun by announcing its presence on Twitter.
In addition, Newcastle Airport has branched out its website so that it can cater for those accessing the internet via a smartphone.
A range of information will be supplied in the new formats, with Twitter being used to relay data about specific flights and services.
Graeme Mason, planning and corporate affairs director, reiterated Newcastle Airport's commitment to providing "excellent service" to its customers.
"The aviation industry is ever changing and we embrace new ways to reach passengers - Twitter has proved an extremely effective and quick way of doing so," he said.
The new services could have been particularly effective last December, when the facility took on a number of diverted aircraft, which were forced to change destinations due to the spate of cold weather.
