One Direction mobbed at Heathrow Airport

Mon, 31 Jan, 2011

X Factor finalists One Direction faced massive crowds as they arrived at London's Heathrow Airport.

After spending time in the US, the band's members were swamped by fans as they touched down in the capital.

Liam Payne proved particularly popular with admirers and was forced to flee to the safety of a police vehicle after being mobbed by the crowd of screaming girls.

Boyzone's Ronan Keating was reportedly taking the same flight but was ignored by the horde of fans.

The One Direction members had been consulting with producers alongside fellow finalist Cher Lloyd, ahead of their first album.

Fans of the band need not wait until the next time they fly in to see the boys live, as they will be performing as part of the X Factor Tour.

Scheduled to begin on February 19th 2011 at Birmingham's LG Arena, the event will see One Direction take to the stage alongside finalists including Wagner Carrilho and Paije Richardson.
