Silky Soles station opens at Manchester Airport

Mon, 14 Feb, 2011

Passengers heading out on holiday from Manchester Airport have been given the chance to have a unique pedicure.

The Silky Soles station in Terminal 2 means travellers can now "relax and enjoy a natural spar therapy" as they wait for their flights.

During the process, customers place their feet in a tank full of Garra Rufa fish, which will delicately remove dead or hard skin from their feet.

The company claims that the treatment also stimulates acupuncture points, which can boost circulation and has a calming effect.

Silky Soles state that this can promote a "comfortable and relaxed" flight by relieving the fatigue of passengers.

Managing director of the company Sue Taylor expressed her delight at the opening.

"We look forward to building on customers' 'holiday morale' by enabling them to pamper themselves and relax before leaving for their holidays," she said.

The company is also running a promotional offer for Valentine's Day, in which customers can treat themselves and their loved one to a 15 minute session for £15 pounds.
