Cardiff Airport is home to one main terminal, making planning your journey through the airport all the easier.
The check-in desks are located on the ground floor opposite the main terminal entrance. As a general rule, we recommend you check in 3 hours prior to an international departure, 2 hours prior to a European departure and 90 minutes before a domestic departure. You should check this information on your ticket or with your airline.
Baby-changing facilities are available in all toilets throughout the airport.
Pushchairs can be taken through security. However, please be ready to remove your baby for a few minutes while the pushchair is put through the screening x-ray.
Cardiff Airport has several options to keep children of all ages entertained! Two games zones with the latest video arcade machines are available in the terminal, providing an excellent facility for older children. These can be found on the first floor of the terminal building and in the departure lounge.
For younger children, a soft play area, sponsored by Smyths toys, can be found in the departure lounge. Parents need to keep an eye on them though as this area isn't staff-supervised.
For the curious child, Cardiff Airport is home to a Techniquest exhibit, located in the departure lounge. Here, you and your child can explore the science, education and fun behind Wales' infamous Techniquest science and discovery centre.
It is now possible to take more than the standard 100ml of baby food through security, provided that this is for the sole purpose of your journey.
Caffi Cwtch also offers baby food and baby food warming facilities on its premises which are located both before and after security.
Cardiff Airport's information desk is located on the first floor in the pre-departure area.
At Cardiff Airport, you can enjoy browsing tax free goods in Nuance Duty Free Shop where you will find an excellent selection of cosmetics, fragrances, accessories, confectionary, liquor and tobacco. The free Buy Now, Collect on Return service means there is no need to take your shopping away with you. This service is available for passengers travelling within the EU. You will also find two branches of WHSmith located before and after security.
Food & drink
Three lovely cafes, Café Ritazza (departure lounge) and the welsh Caffi Cwtch (with two branches - one on the first floor above the check in hall and the other in the departure lounge) are available at Cardiff Airport. Here you can grab a refuelling cup of coffee or enjoy a nice freshly-made snack. From the Echo Bar (departure lounge) you can enjoy views of the runway while enjoying a drink, snack or more hearty meal.
Caffi Cwtch and Echo Bar also offer children's menus with an activity pack.
Cardiff Airport's Executive Lounge offers an ideal environment to unwind before your flight. Relax with complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, browse their range of magazines and newspapers or enjoy a light meal. The lounge has free Wi-Fi as well as internet kiosks, telephone, photocopy and fax facilities to catch up on any business matters you may want to attend to. The lounge is open from 5am - 9pm. You will need to book in advance and have your booking validated if booking for a party of seven or more. Dress code: smart casual or business attire.
Pre-book your lounge entry here.
Cardiff Airport has two meeting rooms which can be booked for either a half day or a full day and can accommodate up to 30 people. The rooms are well equipped with business facilities and have integral projectors or screens for your presentations. Cardiff Airport offers 30 minutes free Wi-Fi to all passengers. Any additional Wi-Fi access is charged at £3 per hour. Alternatively, you can use one of the airport's internet kiosks. These are charged at 10p per minute. Two internet kiosks can be found in the departure lounge after security and one is located landside on the first floor next to Caffi Cwtch. You can also charge your mobile phone from these kiosks at no extra cost.
If you require special assistance when travelling through Cardiff Airport, this should be booked directly with your airline or travel agent. Make sure that you do this at least 48 hours before your scheduled day of departure, and specify whether you require or will be bringing your own mobility aid (i.e. wheelchair, scooter etc.)
Help/call points are located throughout the terminal as well as a PRM assistance desk in the main terminal building.
