Terminal layout

Dublin Airport is home to two terminals. All Ryanair departure and arrival services operate from Terminal 1, as well as other airlines (you should check Dublin Airport's website for details). Terminal 2 is the newer of the two terminals, having opened in 2010. It is home to Ireland's flag carrier airline Aer Lingus. The two terminals are just a short walk apart and are connected by a covered walkway. This walkway is not insulated, so you may want to consider warmth/a coat if you are planning to transfer.

Do make sure to check which terminal you require well in advance of your travel for optimum peace of mind.

Terminal 1

Check-in

Check-in/departures is located on the first floor of the terminal building. Passengers are advised to check in at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure of their flight, even if they have completed the check-in process online. Check-in for long haul flights can open up to three hours prior to scheduled departure while Europe flights open up to two hours before scheduled departure.

Leisure and family facilities

Baby changing

Dublin Airport offers a number of baby-changing facilities throughout the airport, providing you with access to safe and hygienic baby-changing areas. These are located:

  • In the Arrivals Hall near either the Upper Crust Cafe or the Eason Bookshop
  • In the Departures Area 1
  • At Gates 201 and 301 after security
  • In the Baggage Hall opposite Belts 1 and 8
  • Play areas

    Terminal 1 has excellent facilities for entertaining your child while waiting at the airport. A soft, colourful play area for children is available in the landside mezzanine area of Terminal 1. Designed by MacDonald's, it includes a gym and has been created to allow adults to relax while their children play in a secure and safe zone. 

    Baby milk

    It is now possible to take more than the standard 100ml of baby food through security, provided that this is for the sole purpose of your journey. Boots, located after security in the Loop shopping area, stocks travel family essentials such as medicines, nappies and creams.

    Information desk

    You will find information points on the ground floor Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1. Alternatively, you will find Dublin Airport's CRAs (Customer Service Assistants) throughout the terminal. They wear bright pink t-shirts and will be happy to assist you and provide any information you may need.

    Shopping

    Dublin Airport has a vibrant dedicated shopping zone: The Loop. Here you will find a wide selection of outlets to satisfy your shopping needs before you board your flight. Looking for some cosmetics or fragrance? Why not stop by MAC or Jo Malone. Want to pick up some holiday reading or even some luxury smoked salmon? The loop has everything from WHSmith to a Wrights of Howth. The opening and closing time of each outlet varies.     Food & drink

    Dublin has a wide selection of eating & dining options, located both before and after security. The following eateries offer children's menus and are particularly family friendly: MacDonald's (before security) and The Foodhall, The Brasserie and Burger King (all located after Security).

    Business facilities

    Business lounge

    Why not check in to Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 Executive Lounge? For a fixed fee of €20, you can enjoy up to three hours of complimentary drinks, snacks and free Wi-Fi, all within a tranquil and comfortable setting away from the airport crowds. The Executive Lounge also has a business centre providing computer access.

    Meeting rooms

    Dublin Airport has a Platinum Service which not only offers such things as private suites and a Chauffeur service to and from your aircraft, but also meeting room facilities. These meeting rooms can accommodate up to 26 people and are bookable on a daily basis. With an environment of complete discretion, these meeting rooms offer LCD Screens, Wi-Fi, laptops, conference rooms, flip charts and catering. The Platinum Service is available from 5.30am - 10pm.     Getting online & staying connected

    Dublin Airport offers unlimited Wi-Fi internet access to all passengers. Simply connect to Dublin Airport Free WiFi or eircom and a login page will appear.

    If you do not have your own device, Terminal 1 has a series of internet kiosks located throughout the terminal. Many of these stations also have printing facilities. Before security, you will find internet kiosks in the Arrivals Hall, Departures Hall and on the Mezzanine. After security, internet kiosks can be found at Gates 101-121, 201-220 and 301-313. Internet access costs 11.5c a minute.

    Special assistance

    Dublin Airport is able to provide special assistance to those who require help along their journey throughout the airport. This is provided by One Complete Solution (OCS), the assistance service provider for the airport. To arrange your special assistance, simply inform your airline, travel agent or tour operator at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled day of departure. They will discuss any necessary requirements with you.

    Upon arriving at Dublin Airport, head to a help point location to gain assistance or go to the OCS desk located on the First Floor. Alternatively, you can notify your airline staff when you check in that you have arranged special assistance and they will call an OCS representative. Help points within the terminal are located in the following locations:

  • At the entrance doors in the Arrivals Hall, on the right hand wall
  • Entrance door 1 in the Departures Hall, on the right hand wall

    Shopping at Terminal 2 will not disappoint. There is a range of retail outlets offering everything from shoes (LK Bennett) to souvenirs (Irish Memories). The Terminal 2 Loop shopping centre is home to outlets showcasing some excellent Irish brands and designers and you can also expect to find the classic selection of fragrances, watches, jewellery and liquors synonymous with travel retail.

    Terminal 2 also has a handy Shop & Collect service. Arrange to collect your shopping on your return. This service is only valid for those travelling within the EU. The collection point is in the T2 Arrivals Shop; after customs, but before you leave the baggage hall.

    Food and drink

    Terminal 2 has a food court located on either side of security with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Airside, why not try the chocolate lounge, which not only appeals to children offering chocolate treats and drinks from a sushi style conveyor belt, but also some views of the runway.
